Hydrogen Valley Platform provides ready information on all Hydrogen Valley projects currently underway with detailed project information, funding, operational details, and participating consortia. At the beginning of April 2021, this included 31 Hydrogen Valley Projects in 17 countries, representing over USD 30 Bn of investments.

Global Funding
Public funding
The Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU), a public private initiative of the European Commission and the hydrogen industry in Europe, provides information about public funding for hydrogen projects in Europe. For more information, please click here.
In the US, the Hydrogen and Fuel-Cell Technologies Office (HCTO) in the US Department of Energy (US DoE) offers information about public funding opportunities for hydrogen production, storage and fuel-cell technologies.
Individual countries have also allocated R&D funding for hydrogen and fuel-cell technology demonstrations and proof-of-concept. Typically, these are for pre-commercialisation stage, and not for large-scale demonstration stage projects.
Private funding
Private risk capital into hydrogen-related projects and companies have been made by strategic and private equity investors
The launch of the FiveT Hydrogen Fund for investments into the global hydrogen supply chain is significant as it expects to raise USD 1 Bn for hydrogen deployment – this is expected to be the largest hydrogen-focussed private fund. NOTE: Chart Industries (IH2A Steering Group Co-Lead) is an anchor investor into the fund. More information on the launch of the fund here.
